Look at how many runs he scores when the games not close, look at the ALCS.
Manny actually is pretty popular with the media, and ANYONE pulled what he just did, sitting out when he had the next game off and Trot's out, everyone would be on his case.
Yeah, w/o his Bat that might cost a few games, but how many would we make up with a guy who makes less fielding mistakes, less base running mistakes, runs hard to first base.
If you can get the right deal, trade'em. If you can't get good value, or free up money to sign someone big, then I wouldn't move'em.

Running hard to first base is my favorite Manny diss. He did on a groundball out, nobody pointed out when Ortiz struck out in Chicago and the ball went all the way to the backstop and just stood there and let himself get tagged.
Manny didn't run hard through a rountine group ball though, what a terrible player!
I think his bat has won a lot more games than his glove has lost. He very inconsistent in the field, but he will pull a great play out of his ass here and there. Also he has a cannon of an arm, so you gotta take that into account. Nobodys perfect, Johhny Damon throws like a girl but he's a great lead off man with a ton of speed in the bases/in the field so that out weighs the fact that his throw takes 8 boucnes to make it to home plate.
