I'm sorry, Bret was a fantastic performer, but he did not keep that company afloat during that time period. He always put on the best match of the night (or, on occasion, HBK or Owen would do it), but Bret didn't carry the company. I have no idea what did, but during the nether days of the WrestleCrap Era, I can guarantee it wasn't a pure grappler with old-school mic skills.
