True. If we were all smarks on an internet forum back in the mid 90s (the peak of ridiculous gimmicks) this would be an everyday occurance. You just don't expect it now.
Maybe it's a self fulfilling prophecy. We think Punk is going to fail, so we bitch and moan about the gimmick and we don't watch and support him or buy his merch, and then the WWE thinks it isn't catching on so they pull the plug. Then we'll all be sad, pretty much like with what has happened with Hassan. I know I'm not the only one who misses him.
