Was Hassan's gimmick really Anti-American? No, but was the gimmick intended to garner "patriot" heat? Yes, and that's why his gimmick is thrown into the mix with the other Anti-American gimmicks even though it had a more meaningful premise that most of us were able to see through.

The smarter smarks were able to see through Hassan's promos to what he was really talking about. That's why I'm a mark for him now. At first I couldn't care less about what I had thought was a stale and used-up gimmick. But this time around, like I've always said, he exposed just how hypocritical and idiotic the marks can be. After stating to the crowd that he was American, he had Daivari speak on the mic in Farsi, and USA! chants were defeaning. That was on the unaired promo on WWE.com, if anyone remembers that.
