BTW, how the FUCK do call a fair catch. I swear it should be Triangle, but not once have I gotten it to work.
I play on the D-Line. D Linemen suck for AI, and the passing defense is so much better at staying in position to make a play. I always switch at the last second and press L1 to deflect, or triangle if I think I've got the pick.

Fair catch you need to do early. It's best to switch into him before the kick, because in 2006, it's a lot harder to switch into the right guy on Punts, I've noticed. You'll usually just switch into the lead blocker.

And I was switching from offense to defense, because you need to know both. But the thing is, you need to do what is best for your team. If your defense is great, then you can do whatever you like. If not, you need to expect the run on 1st down, and sometimes 2nd down if you're vs. a good running team. Then you can back off a little. I always put in the # of CBs to the # of WRs. If it's 3WR, I go with Nickel. 4 WR, Dime. Five WR, Dime or Quarter. But be careful if it's dime... you always want your defense set up so either a CB or a Safety is lined up against WRs. Unless you've got like Julian Peterson at LB.

But you need to trust your players to make plays. If you try to do too much you will fail. I throw short, high-percentage passes, and run a lot, hoping I'll get that much protection, and that my WRs can catch a bullet and hold on after being nailed.
