Don Muraco - 1985 King of the Ring
Harley Race - 1986 King of the Ring
Randy Savage - 1987 King of the Ring
Ted Dibiase - 1988 King of the Ring
Tito Santana - 1989 King of the Ring
Bret Hart - 1991 King of the Ring

Then they took a two year break from the KotR tournaments and then started them up again in 1993 when Bret Hart became the only two time King of the Ring winner...and this was then turned into a Pay-Per-View event.
