Impact Wrestling's positive momentum coming out of Slammiversary XVI hasn't translated to much ratings success.
Last night's Impact averaged 248,000 total viewers on Pop TV, along with a 0.05 rating in the 18-49 demo. That's the show's lowest audience of 2018 and down from last week's 299,000 viewers. There was a moderate post-PPV bump for last week's episode, with it up from the 275,000 that the Slammiversary go-home show did on July 19.
The previous low mark for Impact this year was 254,000 viewers for the episode that aired on June 28.
Impact was also down in the year-over-year ratings, with the August 3, 2017 edition of the show having done 276,000 viewers.
Impact did face competition from the NFL last night. The first preseason game of the year averaged 6.67 million viewers on NBC.

The final five participants were announced for the tournament today, with Sienna, Xia Li, Rachael Ellering, MJ Jenkins, and Zatara rounding out the lineup. Fine, Kevin Lawler, Tony Williams and other family members spoke at the funeral. Dave Brown led the ten bell salute. They played his entrance music. They had a little red wagon with photos on display stemming from a little red wagon promo he did early in his career in Memphis. Doug Gilbert was one of the pall bearers. Also in attendance were Scott Garland (Scotty 2 Hotty), Rudy Charles from WWE, Matt Riviera, promoter Bert Prentice, Jerry Jarrett, Koko B. Ware, Downtown Bruno and Bill Dundee.

Michael Elgin suffered a right arm injury in his match with Kazuchika Okada on Monday in Takamatsu. He arm went out catching Okada on a move. There is no word on the severity of the injury but he's expected to get an MRI on it next week. He's still working through the tournament. While he was selling it as part of the story in his match with Bad Luck Fale yesterday, that was all selling and he was telling people it wasn't bothering him in the match.
Jeff Jarrett vs. Fenix for the AAA Mega heavyweight title is now official after last night's AAA TV tapings, for a TripleMania match on 8/25 at Arena Ciudad in Mexico City.

Tickets for the 9/28 Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor PPV event at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas as well as their 9/29 TV taping in the same venue officially went on sale at 3 PM Eastern via Ticketmaster.com.
Former Quebecer Pierre Carl Oulette will be working pretty much all the scheduled MLW events going forward, starting with the 9/6 return to Fort Lauderdale event, which will be headlined by Wargames.
This past Wednesday’s episode of Lucha Underground was down to 114,000 viewers, which was their lowest number since July 4th. After eight episodes, the current season is averaging 119,500 viewers per episode on the El Rey Network.

If this were to happen, WWE would more than likely panic and end the brand split.
It should be noted that the exact details of the FOX-WWE contract are unknown and it’s said that FOX likely couldn’t back out of a deal worth that much so easily. The worst case scenario is that WWE SmackDown! Live would be moved to FS1 if it can’t compete live on Friday night’s.

Regarding on-air talents for the potential WWE pre-shows and post-shows on FS1, Deitsch noted that the talents would be hired by Fox but there would likely be some kind of approval from WWE.
It was reported earlier this summer that there was talk of doing a weekly WWE studio show on FS1, perhaps on Wednesday nights.
