Samoa Joe re-signed with the WWE, because there’s more dignity in taking a forced pay cut with them than signing with AEW.
It’s a bit sad that wrestlers aren’t betting on themselves. This would have been the perfect time for CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Brock Lesnar and Daniel Bryan to forge their own promotion, or go to an entity with billions of dollars and say “We can do better than either of the big promotions.”
Come on, Rock. You bought a twice defunct football league. You could get this shit on fucking NBC with your star power. If AEW can get $45 million with a drunk, bloated, washed up Chris Jericho and bad comedy, I’m pretty sure you could get half of what Vince gets for Raw. $100 million per year from a TV deal would make back the initial investment. After that, keep it in the green and use its revenue to fund your other projects as you branch into almost literally anything. Start your own theme park or something. Fucking who cares? Just come back and save wrestling please.
