I’d love Jericho to be the first champion. First of all, you’ll only ever have one first champion. It should be a name that will forever put a good look on your title. Secondly, putting the title on a guy and THEN trying to build him up is such a WWE thing to do and it’s the main reason their titles mean shit now. It would be much better to start off with a great heel champion once you start weekly TV and then use the show to build up stars before eventually letting one of them take the title off of him.

That being said, I’m afraid they’re going with Hangman because he seems to be the “chosen one” and the slow burn is a lost art. Really hope they have the ability to think long-term though.
