It is the biggest dream of any WWE wrestler and although there has never been an all-woman main event, I think it is about time," Sasha said. "We have already done great things like the Money in the Bank this year and it is my goal to create history by headlining the biggest show of the company."

Sasha headlined the 2016 Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, which was the first time a women's match headlined a WWE pay-per-view. Sasha lost her RAW Women's Championship to Charlotte Flair in the Hell In A Cell cage.

But he’s making a ton of money right now and when you are, unless it’s an injury situation, the lure of one more year is pretty great. I can’t think of one person who truly walked away on his own except Michaels, although guys like Orton have remained with a reduced schedule and are really happy with it. There could be that compromise when his contract expires (early 2019) so he could still make good money while having more time to be with his family

The feeling is with Jericho vs. Omega that they have the shot at greatly building the number of new subscribers overseas as the mentality of that match is it’ll put new eyeballs on the product and many will enjoy it enough to become regular customers. Fite TV offered New Japan is significant guarantee for PPV rights outside of Japan but New Japan wasn’t interested in the deal. It is leaving money on the table, because there are people who will order a PPV, and there would also be advertising for the PPV that will hit people that aren’t going to order New Japan World. But the New Japan mentality is they want everyone they can on New Japan World with the idea of this show building numbers and retaining them going forward. Really New Japan should at this point be working with American partners to do four major shows a year, the Dome, G-1 finals, Dominion and a fourth similar show from a major U.S. city, and put them on live PPV and then follow it a week or two later with TV specials on AXS similar to the big event boxing model

ric Van Wagenen of Lucha Underground on the Masks, Mats and Mayhem show said they would tape an episode count in the 20s from mid-February through the end of March, and the show would start airing in the late spring or early summer. He said taping so many episodes so quickly is due to the budget constraints and that the goal is to make it appear too the viewers that the shows don’t have a greatly lowered budget and noted cutbacks in things like vignettes. He said they’ll be taping every weekend during that period and may do some three nights of tapings (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) certain weeks. He said a deal is in place not only for next season, but also seasons five, six and seven, working with the new budget. He said the plan would be a set of tapings once a year, at the same time, so season five would, in theory, be taped in the spring of 2019.

Because of only using talent two months a year, they are relaxing the restrictions on where the talent is allowed to work as far as television goes. The original idea was for them to be exclusive on North American television to Lucha Underground. Now the idea is that they would allow talent to work on TV in other groups and said in specific they are opening doors to ROH (which explains Joey Ryan in ROH this past weekend), NOAH, Impact and Stardom. He said they are also open to letting people out of their contracts who don’t want to stay. He said they would give people releases who don’t want to stay, but asked that they return for at least part of next season so they could write their characters out or have them drop championships if they have them. If that is the case, then the issue a lot of talent had should be rectified if they are able to get releases if they ask for them. It’ll be interesting who decides to stay at that point, because the one issue is that WWE won’t use anyone under contract to another company and don’t want to have a tampering case, so it’s been hands off on bringing people in for tryouts or directly offering people from here any deals. The one issue is they don’t have a location to tape at this point as the studio in Boyle Heights is being used, but the hope is to find a place in the Los Angeles area.

The feeling is if they lose UFC programming, they can plug in WWE programming on FS 1, which would be significantly higher rated for a station that has been struggling to garner consistent viewership. WWE programming alone would up FS 1's prime time average, but the negative is that as a sports station, there is the question as to whether WWE should fit into that category. For WWE, their audience would surely decline moving from USA to FS 1, both because USA has a much higher base prime time audience and because (based on August numbers), USA is available in 91,898,000 homes whereas FS is in 84,221,000 homes. Less audience available means and lower profile television which means fewer fans, although the difference in tens of millions annually greatly overrides whatever decline that will cause. And there are ways to reach fans other than television that are more meaningful than in the past. Nobody knows how quick the migration will be regarding the value of television time from a promotional standpoint, as well as monetary, as compared with streaming. Since UFC events on FS 1 stream and air on television, we do have actual numbers and of late, it’s still more than 98 percent of viewers will watch the FS 1 shows on FS 1 as opposed to streaming it on their television or watching it away from their television.

What makes this notable is that if FOX does keep UFC, the value of WWE for them goes down significantly. They could easily air both, since UFC is mostly Saturday nights and WWE is Monday and Tuesday, but it’s questionable that the station would want to pay the costs for both promotions.

WWE also met with CBS, Disney, Amazon and YouTube, to get ready for its next round of negotiations. Right now, no serious negotiations can take place because NBC Universal, the parent company of the USA Network, has an exclusive negotiations period that ends in about four months.
