WWE has a tendency to want to go with shock over logic in multi-man matches whenever possible. It's usually logical to have the real main eventer for WrestleMania win the Rumble but since it doesn't effect their plans at all, they always go with the more "shocking" winner.

It's logical not to give Zack Ryder a sudden title reign just to take it off of him immediately and return him to jobber status. But it happened for shock purposes.

I can seriously see New Day winning the MITB just for the surprise. They've got a year to figure out where they wanna go with it and it's a cheap way to "freshen up" a stale act.
