NXT UK had similar issues when it came to the launch of the brand as a weekly series.

The moment ITV was actually serious about entering the UK wrestling market was the moment WWE started to rush their plans for the brand in order to not give ITV a big advantage. Before that, WWE kept delaying their plans and also hurt themselves in regards to trying to get a tv deal done in the UK.

NXT potentially could have been on television earlier but it would have been on FS1 and likely on Fridays but it didn't happen because FOX got cold feet on the idea. The talks with USA Network didn't happen until much later and likely after it became more clearer which day AEW was going to be on.
