This shit goes back into the 80s with Sgt Slaughter and his G.I Joe stuff which caused him to leave the company while being the #2 babyface in the company in late 84

He also took a large chunk of Paul Orndorff's Absorbine jr commercial in 1985. Reportedly the WWF got $42,500 and Orndorff got $7500.
