Had AEW's weekly tv show started a lot sooner, they might have had enough time to build up Page into a credible top star and as a worthy choice for inaugural champion. Without that weekly television exposure, Page hasn't been able to build up his star power to the level of someone like Jericho or The Elite's big name stars.
Jericho is the only option. Let's be honest, outside of the small portion of the population that are hardcore wrestling fans who post on message boards (like us), nobody on this roster has name recognition but Chris Jericho.

He is a drunk fat old dbag in real life, but he is still a great performer, and there is zero upside for the company to put the title on a guy who feels like the 5th or 6th best option on their current roster.
