The one issue is Matt Hardy was never a marquee talent. He's had good spurts throughout his career where he did quality work (Mattitude stuff was fun), but the standout "it factor" guy has always been Jeff. You could bring him in, everything he does could land/be awesome and, still, nobody would give a fuck. Yeah that’s basically always been the thing with the Hardys. Matt is a solid hand but needs to get by on character work if he’s going to do anything of prominence, while Jeff doesn’t need character work and Jeff Hardy is a gimmick unto itself. Jeff is basically the “Unique” gimmick in EWR.
