Nah. Well, maybe, if by creative control they mean "him being a giant fucking star that has Vince's ear." It was the right move. Bray Wyatt fucking sucks. But the writers probably love him and think that he should have been champion forever and a day. So yeah, it's probably a Vince vision that the writers don't get.
