He was perfect for Memphis and their style. I don't think it would have worked as well anywhere else. There's footage of Vince McMahon interviewing Kaufman at an MSG show. He actually went to Vince but Vince Sr wanted no part of it so Bill Apter connected Andy to Lawler.
