SmackDown was up very slightly in the year-over-year comparison as the Royal Rumble go-home show in 2017 did 2.556 million viewers.

Asuka submitted Carmella with an armbar as Asuka & The Miz advanced over Carmella & Big E on Mixed Match Challenge last night. The show peaked at over 90,000 viewers live and has over 680,000 views as of now. Both of those numbers are down from last week. Asuka & Miz will face Sasha Banks & Finn Balor in the next round, with their match set for week seven of the tournament.

Hirai Kawato is set to make his CMLL debut as a rudo at Arena Mexico next week as he heads there on excursion. NJPW has post-match comments with English subtitles from Kawato’s final match before going to Mexico.
wXw announced that Keith Lee will replace Jeff Cobb in their 16 Carat Gold tournament in March. The tournament will take place on March 9-11, and Cobb had to withdraw due to Lucha Underground tapings being scheduled.

The company announced via The Arizona Republic today that Chase Field in Phoenix will host the Royal Rumble on January 27th, 2019. Chase Field, which is a baseball stadium, is the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. WWE estimates that over 40,000 people will attend the pay-per-view.
This will be the first time that a WWE show has taken place at Chase Field. It's also the first time that a baseball stadium has hosted a Royal Rumble.
The Arizona Republic's article mentions that the women's Royal Rumble match is "an event that will be repeated in Phoenix."
Like with all "Big Four" PPVs, there will be an NXT TakeOver special, Raw, and SmackDown in the days surrounding the Royal Rumble. The Talking Stick Resort Arena will host TakeOver on the 26th, Raw on the 28th, and SmackDown on the 29th.

Sources indicated that there had been a number of issues previously with Amore's behind the scenes conduct, including the company being unhappy that he had gone on social media to mock Big Cass' legitimate injury when he hadn't been instructed to do so last year as well as the well-known situation in Europe where he was thrown off a tour bus for, allegedly, being loud and not letting talents sleep in the middle of the night even after he was asked repeatedly to quiet down. Within the company, among the wrestlers, Amore had been one of the least liked members of the locker room, often dressing and traveling on his own.
In the end, WWE sources tell us, there were too many instances of problems in recent months that were already building against Amore. His decision to not come to the company about criminal allegations that are obviously extremely serious and horrible, while knowing about them for months, was the watershed moment that led to them finally terminating him.

The latest "vintage" WWE Network addition will be old WWF Coliseum Home Videos, PWInsider has learned.
There will be 38 videos uploaded to the Network's VOD section the first week of February.
The Coliseum videos had been planned for some time, although there was talk internally of instead adding old WCW Thunder episodes since the lawsuit brought against the compan by Buff Bagwell and Raventhe lack of royalties for in regard to their appearances on the WWE Network has been dismissed. That lawsuit led to WWE delaying the addition of Thunder and WWE Sunday Night Heat to the Network, but now that WWE successfully defended themselves against it, the door is now open for that content to be added.
PWInsider.com can also confirm the frontrunner to be added in March are old episodes of WWWF All-Star Wrestling from the 1970s.
