He's had a good innings. I was a big fan of Matt Hardy when I started watching. The wheels started coming off a little after his return in 2005, and there really wasn't a main eventer in there. His run in TNA was bad comedy, but it fooled the people who still watch enough to get him back and be the highlight of a WrestleMania and slum on a salary for a while.

He'll get to do guest spots and coaching stuff for as long as he remains sane. But with Jeff around, Matt's kind of an anchor. The Broken/Woken stuff is/was lame, and while The Hardy Boyz have value, there is probably more value in Jeff alone and you don't want to constantly be reminded that Matt exists.
