A better product would be preferable, but I can, in this backwards sort of way, understand why the WWE wants to have a sustainable and simple status quo for easy production. Putting on good content is work and creates further demand for quality content. You might bring in a few hundred thousand people with a better product, but when the quality dips, does your stock price dip with it when the people leave?

They’ve already got that narrative to battle though — people are leaving the stale product. And even without changing the overall philosophy of the promotion, WWE could just be better executed as is.
