Yeah, I thought I'd wait and take out Megaton later on too. Since I took such a long break from it then dived back in, I had forgotten that I disabled the nuke and couldn't do it. I then just continued with the story, finished it, then found it wouldn't let me continue exploring places I hadnt yet.
Probably should created a new save slot just before the final Citadel stuff
Gonna have to play through completely again.
