SmackDown finished seventh for the night on cable in terms of total viewers but, in a down night for TV viewership overall, did top the 18-49 demo with a 0.67 rating.

The show was down nearly nine percent year-over-year, which is the third-worst drop-off in the last year. It's also the third straight week SmackDown was down year-over-year

Punk had a most interesting response, while still denying that he's set for the event.

"I'm not 'not' addressing it. It's not happening. Nobody has has ever asked me, straight up asked me to come wrestle for them. Nobody. Not since I left WWE. There's been 'hey, if you ever want to do anything...' I know what this is going to sound like to a lot of people. Everyone's always going to find a way to spin it to make what they want to happen. Nobody has ever just been like 'Here's the deal, we're having a show, we're going to pay you X amount, you're working this guy, what do you say, yes or no?' Nobody's ever done that. They've always been like 'hey if you ever want to maybe do something.' To me that's not enough," said Punk.

Punk was asked if it was something he was interested in, and admitted his stance has softened since the lawsuit against him from WWE doctor Chris Amann has concluded.

"I don't think so, but that's a hard question to answer," said Punk. "I can tell you if you asked me that question a week ago, I felt like I still had a foot in the grave, the answer's no. I don't want anything to do with it. I feel like I'm out. The future's unwritten, it's a wide open book, it's my story to tell. I'm just being real. I'm not going to sit here and say no. Something might come up, some fun might be had.
