WWE isn't just getting rid of anybody. If Shelton Benjamin or The Colons are happy making a few hundred grand a year for doing nothing but house show Battle Royals, and they stay out of trouble, Vince will keep them on, just in case.

Stock is at an all time high, profits are at an all time high, and they haven't even started getting that new TV deals money.

When WWE used to release 10 talents at a time, it was so they could add a million or two to their bottom line, and the stock was like $12 a share.

It's a far different situation now. Plus look at it from these points:
1. WWE can respond to media critics by saying things along the line of "the average wrestler is under contract with WWE for 7 years, it used to be 2, so we are taking care of talent better."
2. Letting somebody go didn't matter 5-10 years ago, because there was no potential for it to backfire. Now what happens if they cut somebody, then they go get over big in AEW, it only makes WWE look bad AND gives wrestlers more advantage in that they know they have another option.

Look through the last 4 years, they have not had a single spring cleaning, not one. They have no reason to. Maybe WWE decides to make another brand, to get another TV deal, they certainly have enough talent for it. Of course it would be overkill, but don't think for one second that if someone offered Vince $100 Million a year for an hour long show with more of a lower budget small deal that would feature different talent that Vince wouldn't take it.

I'm not saying it is at all likely, but with the roster size they certainly could do it. Would be a good place to try and revitalize careers, since they no longer send guys down to NXT.
