The only thing ROH has going for it is the NJPW association and some of the folks they signed over the winter, in my opinion. They have arguably the most insidious owners in wrestling, their top guys are mix of dudes whose ceiling is ROH/maybe TNA (Taven), people whose baggage are keeping them there (Briscoes, possibly Lethal), and people who are just waiting for their contract to expire (Scurll). Still, I don't know if NJPW can just extract themselves from the working partnership they have with ROH given they'd also lose CMLL with AEW having its own network of aligned promotions set up.
Like, I think there will be a point in time when AEW and NJPW do end up officially aligned, but I think it'll take longer than anyone but ROH would like.
