Seems WWE recently ran into some legal issues regarding several trademarks for talent names they've been filing in batches these past few months.

At least 3 wrestlers haven't given their written consent needed for WWE to own their names while in the company due to their ring names being their real names.

Interesting, another denied trademark was for "Justus" which isn't the current name of anyone in WWE and has been rumored for a while to be related to Retribution. That was originally rumored to be the name of the group before they were officially revealed as Retribution.

Also WWE has been having trouble trademarking Mia Yim's name not because its her real name but due to her having past usage of the name in the indies meaning WWE needs her consent to own it while she works for them. Seeing as she's one of the people who is affected the most by WWE's recent third party services ban, makes sense why she isn't too happy to give them permission for ownership of her name.

HeelByNature.com has obtained documentation revealing the following trademarks will be abandoned in six months, unless WWE provides a signed document from talent, consenting the company can use the name.
