PCO, perhaps better known as former WWF Tag Team Champion Quebecer Pierre, is the first announced participant for this year’s PWG Battle of Los Angeles tournament. The 50 year old has had a lot of buzz on the indies lately, especially since his match against WALTER at Joey Janela’s Spring Break II over WrestleMania weekend. BOLA 2018 will take place at the Globe Theatre in Los Angeles from September 14-16.
PCO has also been added to MLW’s 40-person Battle Riot match in Queens, New York on July 19, joining Johnny Mundo, Pentagon Jr., ACH, Kevin Sullivan, Davey Boy Smith Jr., Teddy Hart, Rich Swann, Barrington Hughes, Jake Hager, and Jimmy Yuta.
Pentagon Jr. & Fenix defending their Tag Team titles against ACH & Rich Swann has been added to MLW’s TV tapings in Orlando on July 12.
Jay Lethal vs, BJ Whitmer, Christopher Daniels vs. Delirious, Marty Scurll vs. Rhett Titus, Silas Young vs. Flip Gordon, Mark Briscoe vs. Will Ferrara, Hangman Page vs. Frankie Kazarian, Cheeseburger vs. Beer City Bruiser, and Jay Briscoe vs. Kenny King will be the first round matches in the Sea of Honor tournament on Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise. The winner will receive a future ROH World Championship shot.
The new episode of Being the Elite is built around the Elite vs. New Day E3 video game thing from Thursday and other shenanigans. There is a big tease at the end for a match between the two sides.
Io Shirai had her farewell match to Stardom on Sunday at Korakuen Hall. Shirai teamed on the show with Mayu Iwatani defeating Kagetsu & Hazuki. Shirai also came out after the main event where Momo Watanabe retained the Wonder of Stardom title over Jungle Kyona and Shirai put Watanabe over to the audience as the big star of the promotion.
Punishment Martinez won the ROH Television title on Saturday at the promotion’s ‘State of the Art’ card from Dallas, Texas. Silas Young was facing Martinez, Cheeseburger, Hangman Page, Scorpio Sky, and Jonathan Gresham in Proving Ground match, where Young would have to defend the title immediately if he lost the match. Martinez pinned Cheeseburger to receive the automatic title shot and defeated Young to win the title. Martinez is scheduled to face Hangman Page at the ‘Best in the World’ pay-per-view on June 29th in Baltimore.

The G1 will begin on July 14 and conclude with three straight nights at Budokan Hall from August 10-12. Each wrestler will face everyone else in their block along the way, with the person with the most points advancing to the finals and facing the winner of the opposite block. Whoever wins the tournament, if it isn't the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, will receive a briefcase to challenge for the title at the Tokyo Dome next January. The title shot is usually defended a couple of times in the lead-up to the Tokyo Dome show.
