Among the many issues facing the company creatively, we always talk about how it would be nice to let portions of the roster get a month or two off here and there to not only let them rest their bodies a bit but also to prevent their characters from going stale or them just working directionless matches. That little break gives them a creative recharge.

I always remember Cena in 2010 and Punk in 2011 both being examples of times when they booked angles designed to take a star off TV for a while to sell an angle only to have to bring them back pretty much immediately due to pressure from USA. Taking an otherwise healthy full-time star off of TV for any length of time just isn't going to fly with them.
So much this. I don't even think the guys should be gone from the company. They could still workthe houses and maybea dark match here and there. But being off tv for a few weeks or so to reset and recharge a character just makes sense.
