Kofi getting a mega push when he did was just a case him both being at the right place at the right time and everything falling into perfect place for him. The same very likely wouldn't have happened for Ali had he not been hurt.
WWE still fumbled it a bit by having Xavier and Big E do all the talking, and by making them win the title shot for him
