He'd be in a shitty hole WWE themselves put him in, to be sure. Barrett as the IC title holder is pretty much in the same boat as the last half of CM Punk's world championship reign, where he's supposed to be great but kept losing in straight up pinfalls in just about every non-title match.

But he might luck out later. Never say never. Henning* is getting a groundswell of support from this whole #AxelMania thing, and hopefully they don't let that slide downhill like when HE was rechristened to be a badass (and a Paul Heyman guy to boot) and they saw fit to let that evaporate in like a month and he just became a punching bag and a joke lackey. The same might happen later for Wade.

But yeah... I hope it doesn't come down to luck. He should not only retain, but the other guys should continue to chase him and feud with eachother to stay in IC contention instead of that whole scene evaporating after WrestleMania.
