Nah, the way the NFL's scheduling is, you already know at least 14 games before the schedules are even announced.
You play:
-6 games against the teams in your division
-4 games against a division from the other conference, it rotates (ie: the Giants played the AFC North in 2004 so they'll meet again in 2008 with the home/away alignments opposite of what it was 4 years ago)
-4 games against one of the other 3 divisions in your conference, this also rotates (Giants played the NFC West teams in 2005, gonna happen again).
The other 2 games are the only ones decided by the previous year's standings...you basically play two other teams in your conference with similar records or something, not sure how that works exactly.
