The story goes (according to her) is that he met her at a meet and great, asked her age she said 16 and then he kinda blew her off.

She added him on twitter and he told her to add him on snap chat, she did, and then he sent unsolicited nudes.

So apparently whether she looks older or not he knew she was 16.
