what a hauntingly dark journey this was. Truly outstanding. The subplot of Don Vito in his youth juxtaposed with the final scene really highlights who Don Vito was and why all 4 of his children ultimately fail. Each are an incomplete vestige of their father. Sonny is his rage, his fearlesaness. Tommy is his loyalty. Fredo is his love. Michael is his cunning.


But each son is incomplete. Theyre swallowed by the shadow of their fathers greatness and all ultimately are alone because of it.
