The card this week looks horrible:

Who wants to watch this shit? All three advertized talking bits feel like repeats. People all over the internet are groaning about ANOTHER underwhelming Cody bit. Darby Allin has to choose someone as a partner that isn’t Sting, when people are supposed to be emotionally connected to Sting, so people don’t really WANT that to happen. Plus this feud is STILL going, has made the heels look shit and was all about putting Sting over. If it was about making Darby look good, he’d be elsewhere now. He had to sell to carry Sting’s old ass and now Sting is being treated like the bad-ass in the group.
Who gives a flying fuck about Lance Hoyt? When has he actually ever won anything important? Didn’t the WWE used to get shit for building its “monsters” like this? Plus, he’s 50.
The Young Bucks suck, Brandon Cutler sucks, Pentagon is overrated and Kingston always feels like he is shoe-horned in to whatever it is he’s doing. This is a horrible mash.
Angelico is only known for jumping off that thing in Lucha Underground. He has been in AEW since the start and no one cares. Yay for Christian vs. Matt Hardy in 2021. This sucked in 2010.
Team Taz are fucking losers. Adam Page has been booked into irrelevancy and AEW fans will not admit it. This dude headlined their first All Out show. Remember all that “potential?” That was almost 2 years ago. Now he’s teaming with the AEW equivalent of The Blue Meanie.
You know what’s a good idea? Bring in Andrade and stick him with Vickie Guerrero, so people can remember Eddie Guerrero and just how not that good or over Andrade is. But then we give Andrade creative control so he doesn’t have to lose and we can jam him down people’s throats while they’re thinking about how not good he is. And THEN we can keep Vickie managing a woman we are just about done with abs only hired for PR reasons and is going to lose to the current champ just to make Vickie look like a boob anyway. THIS FUCKING COMPANY!
You know what would have been smarter? Having Vickie dump Nyla for Andrade, that pissing off Nyla, and THAT being her instigation to get back into the title hunt. But that takes 5 seconds of thought.
Then you’ve got “Marvellous” Marc Miro — actual mark and ratings loser — getting the main event slot with the mid-card belt against a fat comedy jobber from the indies. They’ve somehow taken Rusev, made him more of a joke, made him even more mid-card than he’s ever been, but somehow also convince him and fans that they’re using him better. Amazing.
They’ll be lucky if they get 400k for this bad episode of Jakked masquerading as their A show. I’ve seen people assume that fans are going to flock back when they go back to Wednesday. Just like they were supposed to flock back when the crowds came. Not everybody is going to come back, and ratings were not impressive as it was. Some people are going to get out of the habit of watching, not miss this shit, feel insulted, get bored or simply stop caring. They will try their little hearts out to hot-shot, but what do they even have? Jericho vs. MJF? Omega vs. Andrade? Christian vs. Matt Hardy? Big Show debuts? Lol.
Yes, Friday nights is a dead slot. But that’s the slot they’ve earned for themselves. If they were higher priority, they’d be in a higher priority slot. Them not performing well isn’t good. The most you can squeeze out of it as that some viewers of AEW did have a social life. But that social life may not include AEW going forward, and ultimately didn’t affect how advertisers saw them.
They’re fucking chewing up people’s brain space with subpar wrestling content that is just wearing more and more people thin. A few hardcore wrestling nerds on the internet lap it up, because their standards are low or whatever, but they are ultimately doing damage to the genre by propping up this off-putting content that makes people rightly think that this shit is fucking dead.
