We've all seen Jeff Hardy fucked up wrestling. It ain't pretty and its OBVIOUS when compared to his sober work. This does not seem to be that. Looks like a Gail Kim situation.

Given he walked out and then got a release (something it seemed that he wanted) tells me he fucking played the game and out-played the out-of-touch Vince McMahon.

Imagine the POP if/when he walks back into a ring from the crowd "somewhere".
also if he was too drugged up to wrestle all the trained wrestlers around him would not let hem wrestle as long as he did in the match.
