Of course they did. Doesn't mean I can't still disagree with the decision to not give the guy a chance to make history. If he hadn't given up that one measly hit they certainly wouldn't have pulled him, yet they're fine pulling him when he was on the verge of a far more impressive accomplishment?
I'd also argue that the Cardinals were probably ecstatic that Allen was brought in at that point. The Indians were fortunate it didn't blow up in their face.
