The match itself was pretty crazy but made little sense why Sting would join together with Hogan and the nWo considering their past history and the whole thing feeling as just another cheap laugh by Vince over WCW.

For years, Sting was the most notable top WCW star that refused to work for WWE and when WWE finally snags him, they don't bother to give the fans a Sting vs. Taker Mania dream match and made Sting's Mania debut match feel way less special than it should have been.
