Anyone know how to fix a scratch in an LCD TV?
Not QUITE a computer problem, but I'm pretty sure it's the same technology. The scratch is highly visible, and I don't even know how it got there, so I'm extra pissed.

I hear vaseline does a pretty good job. You might try putting some on the end of a Q-tip and rub it in using circular motions.
Toothpaste seems to work for some people as well. Which is what I would try second if the vaseline didn't work. |

I've heard warnings against both for an LCD screen.

How deep is the scratch?

Doesn't look very deep. In fact, if it weren't so visible, I probably wouldn't give a shit.

If it's not too deep then either of those choices should do pretty well. It's your LCD though so don't try it if you're unsure.

Yeah, that's why I'm hoping someone might know. A quick Google didn't do much to help me. Which is insane. You'd expect that this would be common enough to find a solution for, at least. I mean, I don't expect people to juggle their TVs, but accidents happen, and a lot of these TVs are in homes where there are kids and teens.

hmm, it isn't something that I'd want to fix, let's hope it doesn't happen to my lcd's.
http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-gen...scratches.html Here's a thread I found about a product called Meguiars plastix, but I'd be picking up an old lcd (laptop screen or something) to test it on first. http://www.merlinstable.com/ Perhaps this, doesn't say anything about TVs, but I think it's a filler. Another thread about it here http://icrontic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43453 Last edited by Bad Company; 03-23-2008 at 08:22 AM. |

I grabbed some displex, but as you suggested, BC, I'm testing it out on something a little cheaper, first.

Ten bucks says Kane Knight goes into Walmart and tries it out on one of the display LCDs
