Has NXT lost all credibility?
So, it was supposed to be a competition between 8 guys for 1 WWE contract, but 7 of them end up with contracts. No credibility whatsoever.

Yeah, umm...What?
I doubt it ever had credibility except with the smarks, who realistically knew several of them would get it. Granted, every single one of them not fired for choking a bitch is probably more than anyone expected, but what credibility? |

The winner got a title shot, not a contract. It was sort of insinuated early that only the winner would get the contract, but that was back before they had really figured out what the goal of the show was. Once the title match stipulation was announced, they never said the losers wouldn't get contracts.

The idea was to make the next big WWE star. They actually made 8 of them even though Daniel Bryan got fired they still chant his name. So, they made two big stars and now a Nexus of good talent.
It's not like it was a real competition anyways. You are thinking about it a little bit too much. |

Not really some of them likely only got contract extensions to give them some real air time and when they decide to makes the cuts it will be an easier decision for them in the end.

It does kind of ruin the credibility of the show as a competition for a contract, because it has now been proven that ALL of them can get contracts if they just wreak havoc and go nuts on people.

The only credibility that I think they've lost left with Daniel Bryan. Otherwise they've been built pretty solid and haven't been jobbed out immediately.
The "apology" segment was pretty terrible though. |

It would have been better if there were only two, maybe three people speaking. I think they want to give all 7 guys exposure and mic time, but I also think that approach drags things down. The idea of "We don't have a problem with you" was solid, just poorly executed.

I really can't get into season 2- I only watched it once and meh didn't bother last week and don't think I will tomorrow and now that Daniel Bryan is gone it makes me even less interested.

I always thought that all the NXT guys should be given contracts, anyway. Only guys ready to be called up should be given the chance to run wild on a show. The winner should just get something special. The right to challenge for the WWE or World Heavyweight Title is pretty special. I am happy with NXT. Especially since people were actually chanting for it as the season one crew stamped the living shit out of Vince.

WWE did the same with Tough Enough and the Diva Searches where only the winner was guaranteed a contract but end up signing at least half of the show contestants to a WWE contract anyways.

So, all the NXT 2 guys are going to end up on Smackdown, right?

If they ultimately want to spin the storyline into a full-scale invasion, having the NXT2 guys do the same thing NXT1 did but on SmackDown is a good idea. Once Teddy Long is pressured into giving them contracts, the entire Nexus (both NXT1 and NXT2) will terrorize both shows.

It was also pretty ridiculous how they had last week, all seven on he mic saying "I will never apologize" and this week they did the same thing with them all saying "I apologize". Next week they will probably have all seven say "I lied. I don't apologize"

Since they're gonna have to keep thinking of ways to give all (or most) of these people contracts, why don't they change the format of the show?
Instead of having "seasons", why not have the rookies graduate from the show based on how well they are progressing and if they are ready for RAW or SD! Then, for each guy that "graduates", a new rookie and new pro are added to the show. |

NXT never was really supposed to have credibility, its pretty much basic filler programming to appease the network executives at NBC Universal who owns the SyFy network and to replace the ECW timeslot for the remainder of its contract because Network execs were not happy with the lack of response and ratings from the viewers. With Smackdown headed to the SyFy Network in the fall season, this was an apparent move obviously by WWE to bolster ratings with a new concept show and appease network execs in the meantime until Smackdown appears in its programming lineup. Despite less than stellar ratings, ECW was still one of SyFy's highest rated programming blocks all week long every week.

NXT also shows it has no credibility by burying guys that aren't part of the WWE product or were created from inception by the WWE Machine. First it was Bryan Danielson, now its Kaval. After getting buried pretty much by a less than stellar big man in Eli Cottonwood they have made Kaval 0-2 now and pretty much looks to be following in the path of losing every match as did Danielson. And we know where he ended up. I think it shows that WWE shows little interest or care about guys that come from the independent circuit specifically former ROH and TNA guys.

For the love of God, it's been 3 weeks. Realistically, a 5'7" 170 lbs should NOT be able to beat a 7' tall behemoth. Calm down with the "OMG THEY'RE BURYING KAVAL" and give it some more time. I think what they're doing with him so far is great.

I just watched and they're doing with Kaval what they did with Brian... Using his cred to put some of the lesser known guys over... He looks awesome... The pink shirt was hilarious... The Warrior Way to the back of Cottonwood's head was badass...
And the Son of Mr. Perfect looks great too! Those quick neckbreakers are killer... |
