If they build him up properly before giving him the belt, sure. I think we're past the time where being WWE or World Champion meant that you were the main-eventer or on top of the business. Anybody can be champ now, and they proved it with Miz, Khali, Swagger (as much as it pains me to say), etc.

Hell, I almost thought they were considering Santino for a World title shot for a while. Nobody would surprise me anymore.

Dear Kapoutman, Miz was not a bad champion. Jack Swagger's reign was exceptional and Khali's reign was a huge hit in South Asia (do you know how proud I felt when he became the first Indian to win the World Heavyweight Championship? Not saying it was a good reign).

Dear Guru Dave,

as one of the biggest Jack Swagger marks on this forum, even I can tell you that his reign was abysmal. The quality of matches was very watchable, but the crowd reaction was not there. Great Khali's reign might have been big in South Asia, but it still does not mean it was good. The rest of the world sat on their ass and waited for someone who could save them from boredom while Khali very slowly crawled his way through a championship reign.

Finally, I never was a big fan of The Miz, and his title reign did not change that fact. Miz had about two interesting matches in his 4-5 months reign (one with Morrison, the other one I don't even know. I'm just guessing he must have had another good match). Miz needs to understand that talking very slowly and repeating cliches do not make for an interesting promo. He sometimes showed flashes of greatness, like when he told the story of his way from being disrespected to being a champion, but otherwise, he was just coming across as Diet Chris Jericho.

Pretty much what Kapoutman said. There isn't anybody that would be a surprising candidate for them to put the title on anymore. I mean sure if they just had Kidd beat Punk or Sheamus like next week or something it'd be a shock, but not on the same level as say if X-Pac would've beat The Rock years ago or something.

In fact, had the title situation been how it is now back in the Attitude Era, X-Pac probably would've got a run with the belt.

I'd be over the moon if they did it next week and he held it till the end of the pool as a fighting champion. Otherwise as long as he's built up I don't see a problem with it, he's more than a solid worker and really the only issue I can see is his mic work, which isn't that terrible.

If he were given the all too frequent "Let's give him a title and THEN try to get him over" push, then I say nay. Too much of that.

he has the personality of a bin bag, he could be pushed like Brock Lesnar and he probably wouldn't get over, I don't think there is any "building up" to be done. Given just how good he is bell to bell, if he had absolutely anything else, I'm fairly sure we'd have seen it by now (not to mention "the office", who'd have seen it a long time before that)

Hope I'm wrong, because he's a great talent, but Tyson Kidd's push looks to be just for MITB.

The good permanent thing is that they are pushing alot of talent right now to fill the 3 hour Raws that will take a lot more talent and storylines to keep ppl glued to the screen.

Unless they built him really well or follows a route similar to Bryan in how he managed to get popular from the YES! chants, feel all the WWE would do for his reign is something similar to Rey as champion where he's always the underdog or a weakling.

With the right booking, I don't think there's many people on the roster who are completely not capable of being champion. Some are just easier to book as a believable champ than others. Much, much easier.

As it stands, he'd need a mouthpiece and/or LOTS of practice on the stick (to be fair, he's still better than, say Brock Lesnar... who has gotten better than he used to be, but still). We pretty much know he's the goods in the ring, he just needs that spark to connect with the audience.

Kidd strikes me as someone that, if they decide to push him that far, will chase the heel champ for a few PPVs who will carry the heavy lifting talkwise (sake of argument: Cody Rhodes) and *just* lose each time via chicanery.

Right now, I'd find it ridiculous. But then I thought the same about Daniel Bryan, Jack Swagger, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes etc. WWE do a good job of convincing me when they want to.

I wouldn't have a problem with it as long as they pushed him correctly, gave him some kind of a gimmick, etc.

He's solid in the ring, so all he needs is some mic time in order to develop a character.

Sometimes I think of what it'd be like if WWE took guys Tyson Kidd, Jack Swagger and Primo (just to name a few), and put them in a stable led by Paul Heyman.

Was never a fan....he's fairly solid in the ring, but his look and personality is as drab as can be; he reminds me of the 'Default' guy you see every time you open up the CAW mode in a wrestling game.
