Did people like Thor or Capt. America?
I watched these two the other day, thinking that if maybe I watched these, (and Iron Man 2)I'd appreciate The Avengers more... maybe pick up some nuances from them that I missed in regard to that movie. Now Capt. America was ok - ish, but even that is me being kind. Thor really bothered me, I really disliked it, which is odd, because I loved Loki in The Avengers and in the Thor movie itsef, but I found the show terrible.
I'm not trying to bash these shows 'because'. But my goodness, they weren't good. -hw did they do at the box office?-

Seen Iron Man 2 as well (same reason as the other 2 mentioned above) It was pretty good.

See I thought Iron Man 2 was pure trash while I liked Cap and Thor quite a bit.

Nope, they're a bit shit. They all kind of are really except for Avengers (Iron Man was ok I guess) Only really watched them because I wanted to see Avengers. Hayley Atwell was gorgeous in Captain America tho. And Chris Hemsworth is a geezer.

Captain America was good I thought, although my brother and friends didn't really agree with that. Thor though has been my favorite of all of the Marvel movies thus far.

Iron Man 2 was alright.
Captain America was alright.
Thor was boring. Couldn't get into it. Thor works better on a team for me.

Iron Man 1 and Avengers are pretty much Marvel Studios only 'very good' movies.

Thought Captain America was just alright, definitely the worst of the bunch, but I watched that the night before I was going on holiday to Italy and I was busy packing so I didn't pay full attention to it.

I like all the others.

I personally loved them both. I feel Capt. was be the best movie of the whole Phase 1 run. Thor was really good just kind of over shadowed by some of the others.

Captain America
Iron Man
Avengers
Thor
Iron Man 2
Hulk-I felt this was borderline horrendous. It is the only one I still do not own and will get it when it drops to less than 10 dollars only to have the whole set.

I dug Thor. I've only watched Captain America once. It doesn't require a repeat viewing from me, but it was good.

He wasn't bad in Thor, but I thought he was much better in Avengers. Much more sinister in that one.

Thor and Cap didn't blow me away, but I did like them.

I disagree. Not to take anything away from him, because the dude playing Loki did a great job, but the interaction between Odin and Thor, as well as the "humbling and redemption" of Thor were far more interesting than Loki.

I enjoyed Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man 2. Thor was at the top of that list, Iron Man 2 was at the bottom. Nothing brilliant, but thoroughly enjoyable.

I loved Thor simply for the coming of age/prodigal son story that was told. Captain America felt like wartime propaganda. That shit was super meh to me. Iron Man 1 and 2 are amazing to me. Thor was great, all paled in comparison to Avangers. Capt American finished last. I won't disparage the franchise yet because I hope to God that Winter Soldier is going to blow the fucking doors off phase 2.

As always, you make very valid points. I said they 'felt' meh and I have no real reason to shit on that movie any further than it didn't agree with what i want in a Marvel film. It didn't jive with me as much. I knew going in this was an origin story, and I somewhat liked it...but it isn't in my top tier of Phase one Movies.

I'm hoping that Winter Soldier is the grand slam as I want to like Cap (but he was never a favorite of mine growing up). He's second on my list of Good guys I hate with Cyclops being far and away the number one good guy cunt

I was surprised to enjoy Thor as much as I did. Cap was too vanilla for me, much like Superman.

I liked Thor a lot. Captain America didn't seem as great but I'm not sure how much of that was due to me watching it on a tiny screen on a plane.

I like movies/things set during that WWII period, so I am actually concerned about not liking the new Cap movie as much just because it is in the present.

I liked them better than the X-Men movies, just because I read the X-Men and it would bug me when they veered from the comics. Thor/Cap/Iron Man did the job for me, established the characters and set up the Avengers/sequels which did/will benefit from the origgins explained already.

I liked both but felt Thor was stronger.
I liked what they did with Cap but..eh.
I was impressed by how well they were able to balance Thor between the realms of the gods and earth.

Haven't seen either one but wasn't too interested in seeing Thor from the trailers and Conan's O'Brian parodying of those trailers.

Been planning on watching the Avengers for a while but only seen The Hulk, Iron Man 1, and Iron Man 2 from the recent set of Marvel films. Liked Iron Man 1 the most and Hulk the least.

I thought Thor was well done. It was worlds better than I expected going in, and I wasn't disappointed in the least.

Captain America I enjoyed not just on the strength of watching it to get psyched for Avengers, but for the "love letters" thrown in, such as the nods to the Raiders franchise and the other Captain America movie.

Iron Man 2 and Captain America were both terrible movies.

Avengers and Thor were the 2 best to be. Iron Man 1 was great until like the last 15-20 minutes.

Really enjoyed Thor. Enjoyed Captain America also but not as much as Thor.
