Have always wondered why we didn't have one of these. Thought it'd be a good spot to post old matches, thoughts and pictures from the the WWF, NWA and the rest of the territories.

Just finally watched Billy Graham's 20 Years Too Soon DVD. Been meaning to watch this for a while. Very good documentary. Happy they showed the Dusty rhodes vs Graham Texas Death Match. Such incredible mic work between those two. Still can't believe Billy adopted a martial arts gimmick.

this is a great idea!

Dusty's feud and matches with Superstar were great. It's too bad Dusty didn't have a long term run in the WWWF/WWF til late in his career.

in the mid to late 70s he would've been awesome there.

Dusty in his final MSG appearance til 1989.
Dusty Rhodes vs Wild Samoan #3 (Samu) from 5/23/1983

Terry Funk vs jobber Bruce Walkup in an empty arena cage match from Florida tv
-Terry is just awesome here

Ted Dibiase

Ricky Steamboat and Nick Bockwinkel

The Sheepherders/The Bushwhackers

JJ Dillon

Mid South Tag Team Champions Terry Gordy and Michael Hayes

Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody

Nick Bockwinkel and Lou Thesz

From "The Brawl To End It All", July 23rd, 1984, here's The Fabulous Moolah (Women's Champion) v. Wendi Richter, back when women's wrestling was somewhat watchable and actually mattered:

sadly women's wrestling was nothing more than a touring attraction gimmick in the states.

most of these girls today can't fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling had some amazing matches over the years.

normal ladies tag team partners Manami Toyota and Toshiyo Yamada fight it out in this classic hair match.

If you have a bone to pick delete your posts and take it private and while the phrasing could have been better the intent was there. So put your cock back in your pants and move on. Perhaps I'll do the same once your bullshit has been removed

Fucking love All Japan Women

Probably my favorite women's match of all time right here. Chigusa vs Masami.

SPOILER: show
Some people don't like the non-finish, but I love it. The fact that they're too exhausted and beat the crap out of each other too much to continue is fantastic to me. And normally I wouldn't be a fan of that kind of ending, but their excellent selling, and the stiff shots at the end really makes it work

whatever the era AJW always managed to have great ladies matches that were certainly miles ahead of what we saw in the states.

ladies wrestling here has usually been treated as a joke not counting Lita and etc.

Besides Seth, has anyone else seen Dick Murdoch wrestle before? By far my favourite of that era.

He seemed to amp up the Three Stooges stuff when he hit the WWF, especially in singles matches. I have a match from an old MSG show in 1984 where he faces Afa, and all Dick Murdoch does is bump hilariously with his amazing facial expressions and call Afa a Jungle Bunny. The most entertaining 20 draw I've ever seen. The crowd at one point gave Murdoch who was the heel a standing ovation after a hilarious drawn out bump.

Really into pre-expansion WWF. 1983 in particular. Very cool watching the transformation.

He seemed to be famous for doing the 3 Stooges act.

its almost alarming he was only 37 in 1984 in the WWF. He looks like a guy 10-20 years older.

Pre-Expansion WWF is actually pretty interesting and fun to watch.

Bob Backlund however held onto the belt for much too long for my liking.

a young Curt Hennig versus Crippler Ray Stevens in WWF '83

"Blue Angel" Owen Hart vs Barry Horowitz in a fantastic match from 8/13/88 in Los Angeles

Couple matches in Japan. Can't remember if it was Aj or Nj. Murdoch was a great heel.

Wish wwe had done more with Trevor. He was a unique character.

Watched a Ivan Putski vs Billy Graham from 1977 with Graham as champ. The crowd HATED Graham and ent nuts for Putski.

Later watched Backlund vs Graham 1982 and the crowd was dead. Keep in mind, this was Graham's martial arts gimmick. Both matches at MSG. I never got Bob Backlund. His comebacks just came off so phony.

Question: of the 3 Wise Men, how would you rank them?

I'd go

1. Albano
2. Grand Wizard
3. Blassie

I gotta put Wiz at number one for me. He was just awesome on the mic as a manager.

Him and Superstar Billy Graham were awesome.

Adrian Adonis and Dick Murdoch versus Billy Gasper and Bobby Gasper.

the masked Gasper brothers were Bob Orton Jr and Barry Orton.

This was a month or so before Adonis died.

Hadn't ever heard that before...I know it's not really old school, but Atlas' goofy laugh during The Abraham Washington Show on ECW was hilarious.

David Crockett interviews Killer Karl Kox in this rare interview from 1975.

Ole Anderson/Gene Anderson vs Ric Flair/Greg Valentine from 1977.
-Wahoo McDaniel is the special guest referee in this cage match.
-Ole and Gene were just a tremendous heel team in the 70s. Flair and Valentine were also great as a team. A couple of young cocky guys.

Wahoo McDaniel vs Johnny Valentine from 1974
These two had one of the greatest feuds in Crockett Promotions.

The Super Destroyer (Don Jardine aka The Spoiler) vs Jerry Brisco from 1974
