Personally I think it's better than anything they've done before, even if I don't think it's an especially brilliant album. At least they didn't take the easy route and churn out a carbon copy of their previous albums.

I actually enjoy listening to Slipknot for once. They've gone away from that no melody crap, sounded like they're either constipated or puking. Now, they got more of a metal tune to their music, and you can actually get what they're saying.

New CD was well put together. Opium of the People is an awesome tune.

But I agree with what Destroyer said pretty much. I've listened to a little of it and it doesn't sound like their other garbage.

Only songs before this album that I had semi-liked was Wait and Bleed, Purity, and Left Behind.

Upon hearing "Duality," I was wondering when Meshuggah was going to call the guys, asking for their riff back.

Especially an act that's big hit came from ripping the bass line off of Green Day's "Brain Stew" and riff off of Iron Maiden's "Hallowed Be Thy Name."

Oh, well, at least I got Colony.

i bought the cd and i belive that they are finally coming together...i've always enojyed his voice and i'm glad that corey talyor is finally singing in more of his songs. Slipknots never been known for "high talent" music...but if u expect that out of them then your just stupid and need to listen. Plus if you don't think that they have some talent then why don't u go up on stage and play 3 drums 2 guitars 2 basses and sing and we'll see how you do

Granted that SlipKnot isn't exactly high quality, but they have a few songs that I enjoy. I personally like Duality right now. I mean they may not be the greatest band, but really they are not half bad.

All at once?

I'm sorry, but pointing out the number of instruments they play is stupid when you say "See how well you could do." Yeah, you know why? I'm not nine people! (Shocking, isn't it folks?)

Incidentally, when I play guitar, it pretty much comes out like that.

Considering I play over a half dozen instruments, I don't think you can really complain about me being judgemental. Even more appropriate, I've heard good guitar work. I know it. I've also heard first year music students. If you downtuned them, they'd sound like most of Slipknot's stuff.

Dan Swanö recorded Crimson II by himself [with some guest musicians doing a few guitar solos and one of his friends doing vocal parts that call for two different voices]. He did the guitars, bass, vocals [both growling and singing], drums, piano, and synths.

One guy composed a 43 minute epic song.

Slipknot, with nine people, has done what?
