Cruiserweight Division

Is it just me or is the cruiserweight divsion now a joke.The title has so much history and could be used better by the WWE,yet Jakie and Clavo Classic are the last two champs. Back in WCW the matchs were so entertaining having 4 to 6 way matches,one-no-one classics. Wither it be a High-Flying,fast pace match or a pure technical a match, they were the divsion to show what new, the smaller group. The WWE has the talent to push the this divsion forward, yet they don't. Great wrestlers have come out of it, names known such as Y2J,Chris Beniot,Eddie G.,Dean Malenko. WWE does'nt have great sucess with this the Light Weight Title had a few champs that were good, but it over all it sucked. Is this just me? Give me feed back.

"Apparently Bruce Prichard has been quite vocal lately backstage about the WWE dropping the Cruiserweight division from Smackdown and having everyone compete in the same division. Malenko has reportedly told the Cruiserweight's about Prichards feelings, which do not look good for the smaller guys as they will end up being buried by the 'bigger' guys. "

Last 3 or 4 or 6 consecutive Smackdowns!

You're right in what you are saying.
The Creative team in WWE have given no thought to the value of either this title, or the wrestlers competing for it.
It's totally apparent right now that Vince or Stephanie thinks that all Cruiserweights are good for is;

1. Jobbing in Squash Matches
2. Time-filling on Velocity
3. Un-funny storylines
4. Trying out ideas thought up while having drinks
5. Satisfying HHH's desire to bury talent on Smackdown

As for the value of the CW belt?
I'm fairly certain that there is no pride to be gotten from wearing this belt anymore.
Replacing it won't work, as the root problem will still be there.

Basically, WWE either doesn't know what to do with the Cruiserweights or doesn't care about them and regards them as fillers and jobbers, instead of a talented seperate class of wrestlers.

They've screwed this up too many times.
All they need to do now is to have Al Wilson come back from the dead and win the title from Chavo Classic, then have Al Wilson job to Mae Young. Meanwhile Torrie goes on a crusade and squashes all the Cruiserweights, finishing with her in a match with Mordecai over who can squash the quickest.

Then the CW Title would totally be an utter joke, viewing figures on Smackdown would be that bad that the Networks would be giving Vince some serious grief, and then he would have to do something - fire Stephanie.

Damn you HHH, and your impotence!

this was discussed about the time jackie won the belt and people were talking about dropping the CW belt for the hardcore one to return.

i agree with your point they are shitting on the belt and have no idea what the fans want to see. i personally only watch SD for people such as eddie,cena and my fav at the moment is rey mysterio.

wwe really need to sit down and sort something out as the CW division is one of the best things SD has going for it yet they dont use it to its full potential.

i think its because they are scared that if they over use the cruiserweights then SD will look poor against RAW but i dont think they realise that it already does because they dont use the SD stars in the right way.

Exactly what I was thinking. This is why I am a little afraid of talented wrestlers like Low Ki, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels going to the WWE because there is a chance that they will just be buried like nearly all other cruiserweights.

We all know cruiserweight wrestling can help make a show much better, but as we've seen for years and years Vince cant get past their size. Yeah guys like Mysterio and Chavo will get pushed because they have a ton of charisam, but the guys like Kidman, Drago, London and others will never get their due.

I have no problem with scrapping the CW division. In its place I would put either the TV title or the European title. The way I see it, they have a lot of guys they want to push in the mid card (Dupree, Jindrak, Chavo, etc), so if you make a TV/Euro title then all those guys can compete for it.

In terms of the current champ, at first I had a big problem with Chavo Classic as the champ, but he's entertaining enough, and the belt is staying on TV as a key part of the show, so it could be much much worse. The way I see it, this can lead to the Chavos teaming up and maybe going for the tag title, or perhaps it leads to a Chavo-Chavo Classic match, which would be entertaining anyway. Anyway, I dont see this nearly as bad as the Jackie deal, could it be better? Hell yeah, but the WWE will NEVER push the CW division like WCW did, so we just have to get over that before we all develop ulcers.

I think that the WWE has really messed up the Cruiserweight divison, there is some great cruiserweights in there like Paul London, Rey and Chavo. They also let some talented cruiserweights leave because of this ie Spanky.

Why is everyone getting at the Sensai for saying that this should have been posted ages ago. Yes it was something that was talked about a month ago but it's also something that is CURRENTLY going on within the WWE and a problem that many people don't like.

I would honestly have to say that cruiserweights are nothing right now. Vince has ruined his division. WCW was the best out of the two and I think that Vince should take a look at some old videos to see what they did right. Now its just a time spot fill but back in the days it was actually something that I would turn in to see.

They've got Billy Kidman, Rey Mysterio, Akio and Sakoda, Jamie NOBLE, Paul London, Chavo and Chavo Classic, Shannon Moore!..........and the best match they could conceive was jackie vs. chavo.
