I was playing an old NES game the other day.
Called (super) Contra. and I was thinking Is this game possible to beat with out any cheats or continues? Name some really hard games to beat with out cheats.

I havent come across a game that I just HAVE to cheat in... Most games I play (If I complete them) will be cheatless, unless it's the second/third/etc time and I want something to do...
Although some wrestling games are a bitch to get everything, like in SD:SYM (I think) you need to go through 100 people in Slobberknocker to get a loading screen or something... That's a bitch and a half... |

I'm not sure if you're referring to the same Contra I'm thinking of, but there's a cheat for one of the NES Contra games that I used to use all the time...
Edit: Eh...I misunderstood the post. ![]() Nah, this'll probably make me look like a pansy, but I never could beat SMB 1. I got to like level 7 or something, but I never could beat it. I don't think that has any codes, though. Last edited by xey; 07-22-2004 at 10:10 PM. |

Ikaruga (unless you keep playing until you get free play mode) comes straight to mind.
I refuse to cheat until I've completed the game. If I need help I may look at gamefaqs, and I'll only cheat once I've completed it. Doesn't mean I won't use exploits I find though (like in Painkiller, if you keep jumping forwards, you'll get getting indefinitly faster). |

I don't make the effort to beat the game if I know I'm never going to be able to. So no I've never felt the need to cheat to win.
I HAVE felt the need to cheat just for laughs though. |

Double Dragons 2 has an impossible boss, Captain Skyhawk is just irritating. In general there are two levels of difficutly when it comes to gaming in general: Difficult, and Nintendo Impossible

Contra and Super Contra are mad easy to beat. Even without the 30 lives cheat.
