Silly Fighting Game Idea
"Capcom vs Adult Swim: The Universal Clash"

1-2 Player 2D fighting game in the Capcom Vs series. Fights can be played 1on1, team, or tag styles. The 2D character sprites would again have quasi-3D backrounds with lounge music playing.

Capcom Characters:

Ryu (Street Fighter)
Chun-Li
Megaman (Mega Man Zero)
Zero
Dante (Devil May Cry)
Virgil
Samanosuke (Onimusha)
Nobunaga
Morrigan (DarkStalkers)
Jedah
Jill Valintine (Resident Evil)
Wesker

Adult Swim Characters:

Inuyasha (Inuyasha)
Sesshomaru
Kiba (Wolf's Rain)
Toboe
Edward (Full Metal Alchemest)
Roy
Brock Samson (Venture Bros.)
The Monarch
Vash the Stampede (Trigun)
Nicholas Wolfwood
Robin (Witch Hunter Robin)
Amon

The backrounds would be things of both franchise; a RE mansion and the Monarch's bee hive fortress, for instance. Before every match you'll have the ability to choose four special bonuses for your fighting style. It'll look like this:

Choose One:
-Super Cancels
-Pop-Ups
-Single Special Bar
-Three Level Special Bar
-Counter Hit
-Counter Movement
-...And other 2D fighter mainstays.

As always the special moves will be character related and the super moves will be rediculous and screen filling (except for the seemingly outdated street fighter characters). It would be playable on all systems and online enabled for XB and PS2. Gamecube would get four extra characters:

Strider (Strider)
Regina (Dino Crisis)
Roger (Big O)
Harvey Birdman (...Harvey Birdman)

These characters would be later downloadable off XBox Live. That's the end of my insomniatic ramble. Now let's sit around and wait for the game to come out never.

I also posted this on SRK around the same time (2005... damn), to which they responded, "Capcom characters vs anime? That's fucking stupid."

They since wiped their forums of old threads, so I'm without the sweet opportunity of bumping the thread to their snobbish fucking faces. Just thought I'd share in the face of recent announcements.

Couldn't this be done pretty easily with the MUGEN engine? I seriously wouldn't be surprised if someone hasn't already created content for all of those listed characters by now.

I'm sure it has, except most MUGEN iterations suck donkey dick. Still, my bump was less about the idea and more about the irony that Capcom would eventually make a game putting their characters against anime.
