Question ECW/NWA split..

I was watching The Rise and Fall of E-C-Dub and it got me wondering.. When Shane Douglas won that tourney for the NWA title and threw the belt down what eles happened??

-was Douglas already the ECW champ or was he just naming the NWA title the ECW Title??

-either way, what happened to the NWA title?? Another tourney?? Did Douglas job it to someone eles??

-did Todd Gordon buy out Eastern Championship Wrestling from NWA or was there still a division of NWA named that??

Any info will be appreciated..

Yes he was already the ECW champion at the time. What he was saying was that ECW was no longer regianal. He was now the ECW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPON.

Yes there was another tournament, later in 94. It was in New Jeresy, and Chris Candito won beating Tracy Smaothers in the final I beleive. Im to lazy to look it up. The NWA title is also the same one TNA now uses.

Companies pay to be apart of the NWA. So no buyout was needed by Todd Gordon. He always owned it. Well at least until later. There might me a Eastern Championship Wrestling. I dought it though. Go to www.nwawrestling.com and look. I don't wanna
