Has anybody here...

been thrown through a table, hit with "steel" chair, nailed with a ladder, been thrown into the steps, ect? I've always wondered, not does it hurt, but more, how badly does it hurt? What moves hurt the guy doing the move more than the guy receiving? What painful god awful looking moves actually leave little pain? What seemingly innocent looking move hurts the most? Anybody got the answers and discuss...

No, I never have. I'm sure it hurts, though.

What, did you expect me to claim that Sadistic has done these things in the past? He did, but that's not what this topic is about.

I've taken a propped bump off of a 18 ft ladder onto a grass ring.
even though i fell perfectly, it still was a nice THUD. my back was pretty sore.

took a nice chairshot once too. top of the head hurt like a motherfucker.

=/ i'm a moron, but i'm an entertaining moron.

Ladders to the back hurt like crazy. Each rung smacking you in different places across or down your spine (whichever way you held it).

Chair shots are pretty painful too, but the effects wear off in about 2 minutes.

I had a blown table spot. It didn't quite break. It buckled, so I can't give a definitive answer on the table stuff.

In middle school, some friends and I put on a "wrestling match" for a talent show.

The match was going sloppily and without a hint of psychology, but because we were beating the crap out of each other and pulling off huricanranas and tilt-a-whirl backbreakers and shit, they were into it.

The finish involved my buddy AJ slamming my face into a set-up steel chair, then closing it on my head before my other friend Zac jumped off a table with a leg drop.

Except when he slammed my face on the chair, I was legitimately knocked cold. The next thing I knew I was sitting in a chair, watching some girls perform a song and dance routine. I turned to them and said "What the hell happened? Is it over?" They looked at me like I was crazy and said "What do you mean? You've been sitting here talking to us for the past five minutes."

I watched the video later, and they did the legdrop spot, then tried to move me but I was out on my feet. However, they still double powerbombed me on top of a cardboard box for the finish. Bastards.

Hard to compare pain. Did it hurt? Yes. Did I ever have deep concern for my future heath, once but it turned out only to be a cracked rib.

While we're here, I always wondered, how does Tajiri and other guys get that really loud KICK sound? It's so loud and doesn't seem possible to get that sound from a shoe hitting a face.

Well, they usually smack their thigh right as they are kicking, which basically creates two "SMACK" sounds at the same time, which most poeple's brain processes as one sound. The other reason those kicks are so loud is because they usually are very focreful and create a lot of sound by themselves.

Ahh. I've noticed him smacking his knee, just never through it had anything to do with the main part of the sound. I guess those combined would make it louder than the kick alone.

Superkicks like Michaels' are easiest to tell. You're usually in a good angle to see the slap.

While I've never done pro wrestling, I'd have to say that most of my friends don't buy joint locks as painful, but man, experience with Jujutsu has shown me how wrong that is. A lot of very simple "submission" moves can be fucking BRUTAL.

Though I'm not sure how hard most pro wrestling moves would be locked in...

Locks are usually amazingly loose, and if it's a joint lock is usually needs to be done exactly correct and pro wrestlers odds are don't know the correct way to apply it.

YEah, it looked that way.

However, never really tried them.

I knew a couple of indy wrestlers who did have a background in a couple of martial arts though, so I didn't really know if it was standard or not.

A lot of Japanese-oriented movesets tend to come directly from lefit martial arts, though obviously hammed up for the "theatre."

I agree with the ones first post as I have experience them all.

as for what move hurts the guy giving more than recieving, would have to be a stunner, it hurts your ass to fall down that hard, where it only hurts the other guys knees relatively little...
