I quite liked Gangrel, he had a good gimmick and cool music. Thats all i can say really, he was'nt the most gifted wrestler/performer i've ever seen but was still better than some of the crap we see on TV today.

I would'nt be against seeing him in a WWE ring again.

WHY'D you put that theme back into my head?!?!?!?! A couple years ago I was experimenting with LSD with my friends, a radio station had played that theme to advertise an upcoming show. I'm not into the whole goth thing, but I really thought Gangrel with E+C as the Brood could have been as big as DX.

There are a lot of people, kids especially who were into that whole culture back then, and I think if they would have given all three a soid push as a faction against The Ministry they would have been big stars.

I mean it ended up fine for E+C, but Gangrel got left out. I never thought he was the best worker, but he really didnt have to be in order to get the gimmick over.

Gangrel had a really cool entrance. He was a pretty cool character... nothing I miss but nothing I want gone forever either.

Awesome gimmick,played it great,got over,was definitely marketable,
had the look; problem is,he's not exactly a great in-ring performer.He
is better than some of the current WWE selection,but he's nothing in
particular to brag about.WWE definitely did drop the ball on him though.

Wow...I didn't realize so many people thought so highly of Gangrel's gimmick. (At the time, I was the only one of my wrestling-watching friends that didn't think it was "too gimmicky," or just plain stupid.) I was a total Gangrel/Brood mark - I still have a Brood t-shirt!

Y'know, it's funny that I should forget this, but what was Gangrel's finisher? (Funny, because he was my favorite character in the WWF at the time, and I made sure to watch fully every match in which he was involved.) It was an elevated DDT, or something like that, right?

As for the "Raven's Flock ripoff" theory, the Brood did sorta play to the same idea - the "outsiders of society" type stable. However, the Brood certainly worked...at least well enough to shoot Edge and Christian into stardom. (And really, where's the rest of Raven's Flock now?) I gotta go with CyNick here - they could've been a huge heel stable, but were the victims of a particularly nasty ball-dropping. (Y'all remember how cool - and well-received - the "bloodbaths" were? The minds that came up with that surely could've supplied the Brood with enough material to get way over.)

Touché. Perhaps my Gangrel-bias interfered with my memory there? (Maybe my memory should run the WWE...it would eliminate from history a whole lot of bad gimmicks and angles...and probably some good ones, too.)

I'd like to think, though, their stint with the Brood helped.

I saw gangrel last year at a u.k holiday camp (butlins) he was working in a fed with Doug Williams, Jonny Storm, Kowboy Mike Hughes etc... Has anyone heard of these wrestlers? I think the fed was allstar wrestling but Im not 100%...............

yeah, I loved Gangrel*, but I lost some of my markiness when he teamed with the Hardy Boyz to form the new Brood, and that didn't last that long. The last time i remember seeing Gangrel* in the WWF was Royal Rumble 2000 in the actual rumble, possibly in the Hardcore match at WrestleMania.

But Gangrel's* entire gimmick was cool, like a wrestling MeatLoaf.
