Something We All Can Agree On
I've been writing on these message boards for a little over six years now, intemitently. I usually troll the wrestling boards as I'm a gigantic wrestling fan and all. Well, in these past 6 years I've noticed that the majority of these threads are about our diffrences in opinons. This is essentially the nature of a message board I suppose.

What I'm trying to find is one common thread, something about wrestling that we all agree on. Obviously I mean opinons, not facts. The goal is to see if there is one thing that we all can agree on. So post an opinon that you think everyone agrees with, and/or say if you agree or disagree with that opinion.

Here's an opinion:
Bobby Heenan is the best wrestling commentator of all time.

Is that something we all can agree on?

Yeah I think I can agree on that. Monsoon is a close second though. Although a lot of that was down to Heenan. Their performance in the Rumble 92 is unsurpassed as far as I'm concerned.

I'm going to disagree with that.

The idea your going to find an opinion we can all agree on it insain. We can't even all agree on facts. The closest thing you might be able to pull off is something like "Vince McMahon has lost his damn mind." And even there, I'm sure someone it gonna come along and shoot that down saying he is perfectly setting up for the greatest angle of all time.

That may be true but it depends on what you mean by "one of" if you mean top 10, then yes, if you mean Top 5 I'd still say yes, if you say Top 3, well at that point I'd have to disagree.

I'm not sure who I would put as top three, but I can tell you right now the single most charismatic wrestler of all time is unquestionably Andre The Giant.

Beyond that, there is some debate as to where Flair, Hogan, Austin, and Rock rank. But those would probably be in my eyes the top 5 most charismatic wrestler I have ever seen.

I know one thing we can agree on when a professional gets his mitts on a song that's when it really takes off. Da da de da da do ba dob a do. That's why I've gone out and done the music world a frickin' service, and cut this compact disc. It's called The Coconut Bangers Ball: It's A Rap. Ha Ha Ha A little inside I know. Anyway what you get is one full hour of rip roarin' rap music. Not by some dubious ruffians without the chops, but by a professionally trained voice man. No musical accompaniment. It's just me out there. Watch what I do with this little ditty from Sisqo called the "Thong Song."

Something we can all agree on....

The WWE would be able to produce a better product if they didn't assume the worst about their fans, hire writers that know about wrestling, not sign 435845 women who have never been in the ring, realized that TNA could be a threat down the line, made us give a damn about the WWE title, pushed some of the midcarders to the main event over the next year (by WM24 I want to see CM Punk, Mr. Kennedy or Nitro in the main event), gave us something we haven't seen instead of rehashing old storylines, and replaced Jim Ross with someone who could make you feel that the second coming of Christ was going on in the ring without fucking up multiple times on a weekly basis.
It's that simple

IMO, Heenan holds the crown for best single performance on the headphones for Royal Rumble 92. But I might have to say the original colour man, Jesse Ventura, was at least Bobby's equal on the whole.

And the parallels don't stop there.... they both sucked when they went to WCW.

Insane's a bit harsh isn't it?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE The Brain and his commentating, and he had a strong start in WCW, but his strength was bringing humour and fun to boring squash matches, or drama to matches involving "his" guys. When wrestling changed during the NWO days, that style was not appropriate for the programming anymore, and Brain became more serious. Quite frankly, he dropped all the aspects that made him so great in the first place.

Ventura did the same later on in WCW, moved away from humour and became more serious.

Both guys= tremendous colour commentators, mediocre serious stick men.

Yeah I guess saying they "sucked" was a bit over the top, but definitely mediocre at best.
