If Shane won the title, what would be your reaction/opinion? What would you say?
And I'm not talking like Vince won it as the result of a run in and to advance a fued, and then relinquished it the next week.

I'm talking he beats a champion cleanly in a wrestling match, and defends the title a few times, maybe even at a PPV. What would you say to such a thing occuring?

He can wrestle better than 2/3 champions right now, so I wouldn't be that upset

If they played it up as a "daddy's gift" sort of thing, I think it could be believable, since Shane has enough wrestling experience to seem at least fractionally credible.

I think anything is feasible with great writing. I'm not saying it's likely they'd be producing great writing right now, but you know about blind squirrels.

Cena holds up his end of the deal when it comes to making a good match. Lashley needs a guy like Finlay, Regal, or Benoit to hold his hand....and Batista just sucks now.

I actually think Shane would make a pretty decent ECW World Champion. The way I see it going down, Vince books Lashley vs. Chris Masters in a Masterlock Challenge for the ECW World Title, and Lashley breaks The Masterlock to build momentum heading into WrestleMania. Vince and Shane are about to leave, but then Vince says "No! No, dammit! It's not going to end this way. You're defending the belt in an Extreme Rules Match right now! Against my son, Shane!

Shane McMahon looks pissed, but charges Lashley and gets his ass kicked for the most part, but then Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch come out, and beat down Lashley some. Bobby makes a slight comeback, but Chris Masters gets back in the ring and slaps The Masterlock on Lashley, again. This time the Champ goes down, and Shane McMahon hits a Shane-O Elbow for three.

Shane McMahon then starts working ECW shows as its World Champion, with Chris Masters, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch as his henchmen. There were rumours those later three would all be heading to ECW. This gets them there.

It's a little sad that Shane makes a more interesting Champion than either John Cena, Batista or Bobby Lashley.

You had me until you involved Cade and Murdoch. Everything else was good.

If you were gonna have a run in to allow him to gain the pinfall, it'd make more sense to be Umaga and Estrada given the circumstances. Since you had the setup with the Masterlock, Masters getting involved and being Shanes bodyguard would at least make some sense. It'd give him somethign to do as well.

However I feel its important to keep the belt on Lashley and have the fued about what its already about. If Vince books Shane against Lashley for the title, one is left to wonder, why wouldn't he have the title on the line against Umaga?

Something like this would be best to occur in the weeks after mania.

As I posted in the Greatest Manager thread, 5 years ago Shane would have been a great full-time wrestler, and probably even made a great (albeit novelty) champion for a while.

Now, not so sure. He's a bit older nowadays, and his credibility is shot because he rarely ever wins a match.

I could see Shane-o running as champ. But like someone here said, I've got to see how it plays out on TV. I mean, for a few weeks he played a ref. and did alright.

Well, I can't see that happening now since he's a father. If they were going to do it, should've done it 5 years ago. I kinda wouldn't mind seeing what he could do. I enjoyed his little run as european Champion

a few years ago it would have been feasible. The fact is that he's put on some great matches. But now, unless it was merely for storyline reasons, then i doubt it'd work

A lot of people are saying a few years ago. That's fair enough, but I actually prefer Shane now.

For one: He actually comes off as a wrestler now. Back then, at least to me anyway, he was always "the boss' son". When he busted out the torture rack at Unforgiven, I can't be the only one who marked out?

And secondly: If you laid down the appropriate information about Shane McMahon receiving training back in the 1990s and whatever, and really push his growing up in the business, he actually has the experience edge over the WWE's newest guys. Back in the day, I doubt anyone could have bought Shane beating a Kane. Now, I could very easily find Shane McMahon outsmarting a Bobby Lashley.
